Στις φλόγες βρίσκεται μέρος της αμερικανικής βάσης στο αεροδρόμιο του Ερμπίλ, στο βόρειο Ιράκ, η οποία χτυπήθηκε κατά τα φαινόμενα από ιρανικούς βαλλιστικούς πυραύλους.
Πληροφορίες από την περιοχή αναφέρουν ότι χτυπήθηκε αποθήκη οπλισμού. Οι φλόγες υψώνονται σε πολύ μεγάλο ύψος, όπως φαίνεται από βίντεο που έχουν ανέβει στα κοινωνικά δίκτυα.
Καταγράφονται ακόμη και δευτερεύουσες εκρήξεις, πιθανόν από το στρατιωτικό υλικό που καίγεται.
Η βάση είχε γίνει στόχος επιθέσεων και το 2020, όπως και σε άλλες περιπτώσεις τα επόμενα έτη, αλλά αυτή τη φορά η επίθεση ήταν μεγαλύτερης κλίμακας.
